PUMPKIN is a gourd-like squash of the genus Cucurbita and the family Cucurbitaceae (which also includes gourds).[1] It can refer to either species Cucurbita pepo or Cucurbita mixta, and sometimes to a specific variety of either the species Cucurbita maxima or Cucurbita moschata. Yup that's me...

BRYAN: "I've heard a lot of wonderful stories about myself, enviable - I wish I could've done it."
There's as much drifting around Bryan which is mythology as there is which has stuck and become a part of him. What reality there is constantly mutates into visions of a man walking off into the sunset or crawling off before sunrise. He's an encyclopedic compilation of everyone he's ever befriended in almost 30 years.

BRUCE: Hi, my name is Bruce. I’ve been a bicycle messenger in San Francisco on and off since August, 1993.

I was born in Taipei, Taiwan. My dad worked for the Chinese diplomatic corps while I was but a wee lad so I’ve lived in many different places while growing up and consequently, can’t really lay claim any one town as my home (if there has to be one, it’s gotta be SF for me). In hindsight, the most regrettable loss had been that I wasn’t old enough to really enjoy and explore all those places that my dad had brought his young family along to during his assignments; Tehran, Managua, Monrovia, all great cities that have all seen civil war and revolution since our brief stays so many years ago.

My family finally had enough rootlessness by the time I was in high school and settled in the South Bay, close to relatives and a familiar locale. In college, I became a banana slug. My best English teacher in high school disapproved of but actually, in the end, inspired that I think. First, there was Panama, then the Gulf War. Professors, books, and hippie-like behaviour in the redwoods told me that there were so many things wrong with how we used things and other people in our global socio-economic system that the ideals of fairness and sustainability were so distant from how we’re really going. I learned things about the world that made me consider what I have to do to make a living for myself: And living in “The City” and biking for a living really helps cut out most of the oil and commute-time middle man -- now if I can only get more local produce too! It’s a dense place (could be more), nice weather, lotsa things happening, hipsters, fancy restaurants, bars, etc. But if it weren’t for rent control, I’d probably become an Oakland guy. And thanks to that awesome flat-mate and all-around great guy Tim, I still live and work here happily. I’m already living the dream, erh…still living the dream; to work outside, and be free.

TIM: I was born in San Francisco and raised in Nevada, which means I’ve got a lot of city boy in me but I’ll spend as much time as I can in the mountains or the desert. I came back to SF to earn a Bachelors in Fine Arts (cum laude from USF!). Currently my primary medium is Cupid Courier and our various plots, schemes and creative endeavors which I find quite satisfying. You might hear me referred to as “nice tim”, a moniker coined by my friend Damon to distinguish me from a couple other messengers named Tim. Those closest to me think of it as an ironic nickname like calling the big guy “tiny.”
